Does anybody know about the quality of that red vinyl unofficial release?
Just stumbled on that and wondering the same thing. I'm definitely not trying to pay $200 for an original.
Great album, does anyone know how many copies was made ? I heard that vinyl version was only for Vinyl record day. Is that true?
I've searched everywhere for an answer to this question, unfortunately "limited quantity" is the best answer I've come across
I tried to find any information at recordstoreday.com, but unsuccessfully.
Yes it's true. I don't know how many... but I dare say maybe 5000.
I swear this wasn't as expensive before May 2017 ):
The version i have the barcode on the back is 8 29421 11250 1 but on the sticker on the front it is B0016294-02 can anyone help with what version i have please?
One of the best vocalists ever, in an intimate format. Easily one of the most precious records I have. It is an honor to have such a record!
What a solid album. The press in insane and on 180g, the amount of depth and detail that comes from Chris and that guitar unreal, easily one of the best sounding records i own.
why does it say 0 have and 0 want. i have been seeing a lot of this lately. is there something wrong with this data? I just got my copy today from Amazon. wondering when people will quit gouging for this.
RIP Chris Cornell.People are clearly trying to take advantage. This LP is available to purchase on the labels website, don't buy from these parasites...http://friday-music.churchofmerch.co/chris-cornell-songbook
Says you need a password to get on the website, I'm sure there's no copies to be had but still it's weird you need a password
Password protected ? Weird. Any idea why ? I'd love to check it out.
This specific 2 LP album (US, limited) has been released on november 25th, 2011. I guess people have had plenty of timeto buy this record. You don't have to wait to buy this record until the day the performer (Chris Cornell) has died. So, I canfollow your story a bit but I would not consider these actual sellers as parasites. It is a TRUTH that after the death of aperformer, the first press of a an album gets more desirable and is more wanted by collectors. In general, you may saythat all first pressings (mint condition) of some famous records are very wanted. And expensive. So the sellers are trying to attract these collectors. It seems normal that they don't offer their rare and hard to findrecords at a price, being 30,00 USD. Don't loose your courage. According to some reliable sources, they willrelease a repress.
The Sphinx of Driz
This is being repressed with a release date in June so don't pay crazy prices for it.
What an obnoxious post. The person didn't say they are or are not a "great admirer". He/she was simply informing people that it was going for repress so no reason to pay above normal retail. And lots of people who are "great admirers" often put off something like buying an album and then a death drives them to action. Why TF do you care?
Hi,If you are such a great admirer of Chris Cornell, why haven't you tried to buy this double limited US album while Chris was still alive ?Why waiting so long ?
Excellent thanks for the heads up. RIP Chris Cornell :(
Wooden Purple Romeo
Thanks for the info. Goddamn vultures have no shame, $200+!
Beautiful album. Wish Billie Jean were on it. Tough to find, but a must for any Cornell fan.
Billie Jean and Redemption Song, 2 songs on the bootlegged versions that are incredible! Unfortunately probably couldn't secure the rights :/
This record is hard to find and sounds great. Very flat pressing. A great way to listen Chris Cornell in a relaxed acoustic recording.
