rootsy americana back-porch swayer bliss of the original kind... an album reekin' w/moods of homecoming... as honest as the mud on your shoes... rags 'n hollers, stained moonshiner clues 'n patches of western-swinger blues... "King corn" is as far as a white boy's able to delve for down-deep-sub-under-basement Country-Blues w/ a dash and "the train carrying Jimmy Rodgers home" sounds like if Levon & the Hawks recorded a shellack 78 in the late 30's(!!) w/a heartbustin' harmonica-fiddle serenader-line!

Gave it a 5 cause 4 is too low. I would rather give it a 4.5. Definitely a keeper. Very subtle, quiet album that grows on you the more you listen to it. It just gets better and better each listen.

I am so glad I give more obscure finds a chance because I find great less-known records like this one. If you ever find a copy, don't pass it up and promise you will play it at least 3 times through before dismissing it.

No wonder Jack Johnson was influenced by this artist. I was a big Jack Johnson fan, so now I know why I like this album so much.
