Pure fresh energy by Pussy Willow Furry Venus
Looking for new music usually ends with the same old problem - you can’t find something good, interesting, new and fresh. You keep asking yourself what happened to quality music? Too many bands follow a pattern or struck a similar sound. The lack of originality and energy between newer authors almost kills people's will go explore new music. However, I would never give up. If you're looking hard enough, you can always run into something good.
Or, how about more than good, how about excellent? For example, Pussy Willow Furry Venus with their ‘The Slag Who Fell To Earth’ are something new for me. I was fascinated from the first played song. Why? They sound appealing, their lyrics are unbelievably meaningful, they play their instruments great. In a nutshell – they know how to get to the core of their music. Their tunes are fast, really loud, vigorous and powerful. Their creative world seems like chaos, but well-orchestrated of course, and one of the best products of this chaos is Sticky Vicky. Sticky Vicky is definitely the band's trademark. In this song Pussy Willow Furry Venus are playing games with lyrics, as they add a touch of humor and ambiguities .Another thing that stands out is ‘Cold’. This song is totally different from others, it has much slower rhythm, and seems like a ballad, but with heavy lyrics in the foreground. So, it's a fierce ballad!
‘There Is A Chunk Of My Soul
That I Cannot Mould
So I Dance In My Own Guts
Saves It Growing Old’
The rest of the songs are defined by their spontaneity. To be honest, the whole album is good. Not all songs are perfect and catchy like Sticky Vicky, okay, but why should they all be? This band's time is about to come and they already did a great job by releasing an album that shows their amazing potential. And some of those songs could definitely be on your favorites playlist.
My final impression is that this band has its own x-factor that gets you engaged with their stuff. Yet, it's hard to describe. Maybe it's because they are still about to show what they know. Or, as I see it, it's because you need to listen to them and feel their melodies individually. Yes, that's it. One more thing: I'm putting them on my big list of all the bands I need to hear at the show sometimes – I bet they kick ass live!
