Hello Frizzby5,
Could this be the answer to your question?

In the early days EVERYTHING was in mono so this was never mentioned.
When stereo became available it was nesessary to add MONO and STEREO.
So if the original album is without MONO your album is a rereleased mono album.

Greetings Eric
Altad
I've recently decided to log all my records on to an excel file and in doing so have noticed that several of the records i own are not the original releases as in the case of the above, My copy consists of a 'rainbow edged' disc whisch I gather is not the original But my sleeve has a white band across the top with the title on which also contains the word MONO which I have yet to find on this site, can anyone help me please ?
